HAKKYUU GUILD WARS 2 ex-friend. hakkyuu has the dubious honor of being the first person stephen ever slept with in duplicity. they enjoyed a fun, sexy and surprisingly trusting friendship for awhile; however, when hakkyuu was goin' thru it and pushed him away stephen let himself be pushed, too proud to fight for anyone's attention or affections. but stephen's been brought low since his return home, and keeps relearning the hard way the value of telling people how you feel before you lose them for good. there may be something salvageable here yet.

TONY STARK MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE ... acquaintance. man that stephen personally martyred to save the universe. well, like, not personally, but ... like ... five percent personally. realistically stephen doesn't know him that well; in inexplicable and mystically informed ways he feels as though he knows him intimately. he's trying not to make it weird, but there isn't really a word for his complicated emotions about tony stark. some mix of regret, obligation, distance, unearned fondness, guilt. and on top of that a light sugar dusting of "seriously, i don't fucking know this guy" and a distant memory of having sucked his dick one time. you know what, maybe that word does exist. it's probably german

STEPHEN STRANGE MARVEL 616 senpai. he understands his counterpart better after having survived his first apocalypse and can foresee, somewhat uneasily, the ways in which their similarities will eventually start to outweigh their differences. he's placed himself in strange's tutelage to become the best sorcerer he can possibly be and even feels a grudging obligation to make sure he doesn't end up in trouble so deep that their powers combined won't be enough to fish him out. there's genuine trust there too, though poorly-defined. honestly it's a little like having a socially maladapted brother, except they've had sex before, so actually not at all like that unless that's your thing

PHILLIP DURAND ORIGINAL friend, occasional sex partner. checking in on phillip whenever shit goes down has become habit, as has the occasional coffee hangout. he hasn't forgotten that phillip looked after him when he was in the peak of his frustrated depression, as well. over time stephen has learned to trust phillip and depend on him, and while he keeps a measured distance out of habit he does recognise that he's much more attached to phillip than he's ever vocalised to himself or anyone else.

DOOMFIST OVERWATCH former dominant, regular sex partner. stephen rode out a three-month contract with akande that he thinks was grounding for his initial tenure in duplicity: the promise of strictly delineated rules along with akande's deeply self-possessed nature caught him at a time of instability. the truth is their sexual relationship was fraught and maybe stephen isn't actually the kind of person who functions better when he hands the reigns over to someone else. it's hard for him to admit when he's wrong, though, which is why he still regards akande with a kind of guarded respect and even appreciation. his attraction hasn't gone anywhere either. like most things having to do with doomfist, stephen keeps that shit to himself.
